When I saw it, I immediately thought it had great possibilities as a weaving. Benita kindly sent me a high-res copy of the photo to work with. It has great composition, and just a faint hint of color. I experimented in P'shop to see if I could bring out some more color, and came up with two designs:

The first is more faithful to the level of detail in the photo, while the second has a more watercolorish feel to it.
One or the other (or maybe both!) will be woven on this next warp.
I am so excited about this! This is my picture about to become a tapestry! Needless to say, I will be reporting every minute of this creation on my blog.
ReplyDeleteSaw this link on Benita's blog-excellent weaving-great project plans.
ReplyDeleteI followed the link from Benita's too, though I've visited and commented on your blog in the past.
ReplyDeleteI love your renditions of her photo and have to admit, I'm partial to the 2nd.
