It seems as if the entire western US is covered in an acrid pall of smoke. At the cabin one afternoon I sat on the porch spinning and the wind shifted and brought the smoke of one of the 3 fires in the valley toward us. A big clot of ash landed on the porch, carried miles away from the fire zone.
We spent last night in Provo, Utah, where the Wasatch Mountains were obscured by smoky haze.
