Double weave, one layer fine white yarn, one layer thicker rust yarn. In places, the layers are completely separate, and if woven in plain weave tend to buckle, creating texture. Where the layers integrate, the weave has longer floats for a flatter surface. Found on the Viking Sky, where (being Norwegian) textile references are a common feature of the decor. (The stairwells have enlarged copies of scenes from the Bayeaux Tapestry; "Norman" being a form of "Northman," i.e. Viking.) Next stop, Edinburgh.
