Here's a shot of the first wood scarf in the series. The weft is the bronze Koa skein, which is nearly the same value as the light warp.
What is most visible is the steep networked line threaded in dark brown. Superimposed over that, and more subtle, is the pattern formed by the weft and the light warp (a large networked curve). I can't wait to see it washed and pressed, but that'll have to wait until the whole series is woven.
In the meantime, it's time to start getting ready for the Contemporary Crafts Market show in Santa Monica the weekend of November 2-4. We have to pack up the van and leave on Wednesday, set up on Thursday, then staff the booth Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If any of my readers are in the greater Los Angeles area, please do drop by the booth to say hello. And if you would like a postcard that gets you and a guest in the door free, send a message with your name and postal address to sandra at 3springshandworks dot com and I'll put a card in the mail to you.
