Towel #11

I often base designs on drafts from handweaving.net. In many cases, it's possible to take a single draft and use it on various threadings to get completely different looks.

Here's draft number 8072, for 20 shafts, on the original straight draw threading:

For towel #11, I took the tieup, placed on a point threading, and did some futzing to eliminate overlong floats, and to get the basket-weave selvedge to come out right, and here's the resulting draft, and cloth:

I've even used this on an echoed point threading, to get a peacock feather effect:

Just goes to show, a weave draft can have 9 lives, just like a cat! I owe thanks to Kris Bruland of handweaving.net for providing such a wonderful resource for weavers.

These are wonderful, Sandra. Have you woven one up yet with the straight draw? I'd love to see that.

How beautiful! As I looked at the draft, I thought "peacock feathers", and then how neat to scroll down and see that woven. Lovely design, and great photos, too!
