Number 4, Plus A Look Back At Number 3

I'm nearly halfway through scarf #4:

The weft is a viscose rayon metallic in dark brown with a coppery glimmer. It's not a sparkly metallic - the effect is almost subliminal - and the yarn is fine enough not to give a harsh hand to the silk. Because it's close in value to the darker of the two warps, what you see is mostly the big curve of the networked design line in dark purple. However, if you look closely (click the image to display the larger version) you can see a faint hint of the zigzag shape of the networked design in the orange-red warp. This one doesn't have the degree of iridescence of the other pieces on the warp, but I'll be interested to see what happens after wet finishing. I love surprises!

At this point, scarf #3 is visible under the loom, winding onto the cloth storage beam.

In this view, you can see the effects of both the big curve and the smaller zigzag. Both designs seem to love to appear and disappear from different angles. We had visitors today, a group of 4 women bringing spinning wheels for DH to repair and tune up, and they ooh'ed and aah'ed at the effect.

While I was weaving, DH was tuning the jacquard loom in hopes of reducing the hook errors to an acceptable level, and tomorrow I'll start weaving on it. Will it be Benita's Three Pines?

Will it really be? Oooo! I can't wait!!!!

I am very intrigued by your flame weaving. I live it when you get different patterns from different angles.
