Back from Santa Monica...

... and the Contemporary Craft Market show.

If you've never sold your work at a craft show, this video will give you a sense of what the conversations with potential customers can be like. It's a hoot! And all too true.

Today's task is to tie the jacquard warp back onto the front apron and get ready to weave some more trees. These weavings will be based on images of a California Sycamore tree taken this summer on a nearby ranch.

This is the tree trunk, indexed to 13 colors, to be woven with white, blue, and green wefts.

And this is the root of the same tree, indexed to 12 colors, to be woven with white, tan, and green wefts.

Love the video! I just had that conversation with my next door neighbour... He is an economist, and the expression about knowing "the price of everything and the value of nothing" fits him perfectly ;-)
