Basketry

Today's task was to plant flowers in the five hanging baskets in the courtyard. These two hang near the little Japanese maple, which has only just barely started to leaf out, and above some cymbidium orchid plants.

This one's next to the courtyard fountain:

And this one's on the sunny side of the courtyard:

It'll take a week or two for the plants to fill up the spaces, but once they do it'll be a riot of color. We have a big party coming up in mid-April, so I hope they'll have done some growing by then.

Tomorrow I have 3 more to plant, for the other side of the house. But in the meantime, I intend to make time for some weaving!

So jealous! It went well below freezing last night but has finally warmed up to just above. The spring melt is beginning, though, so hope for some greenery might get fulfilled, sometime. :}
cheers,
