Goodbye, Luna

The moon is woven.

In the photo, you can see that I've woven a strip of plain weave, then inserted a narrow piece of wood, and woven more plain weave. After applying Fray Block to the strips on both sides of the wood, I  cut the cloth off the loom. Later in the week, I'll lash the wood onto the cloth apron and be ready to start weaving again.

At the moment, the moon is in the washing machine on the "hand wash" cycle, and will then be pressed and have iron-on interfacing applied to the back. The next step is to mount it on a canvas stretcher and finally frame it in a "floater" frame. Then it'll be ready to ship to its new home.

The lander is napping on the comet and the moon is in the washing machine... I love the universe :-)
