What a Weekend!

Over a total of 15 hours of buying frenzy, spread over 3 days, the Central Coast Weavers pulled in over $42,000 (USD).

This proves my theory that this area is shopping-deprived. Okay, we have a K-Mart, a Walmart, a Kohls, a JC Penney, a Forever21, and a few assorted small local shops in San Luis Obispo county; the nearest big-name department store (Macys) is 50 miles away. But there are no really good sources of unusual, one-of-a-kind, handcrafted items. So the guild's faithful came in droves, and made this a record-breaking event with a final sales total well above any previous year.

This also proves my theory that the Central Coast Weavers has an unusually high level of member participation, with a large percentage of members providing high quality items for the sale. I'm impressed!

Because of a conflict most years between the CCW event and the Contemporary Craft Market in Pasadena, this is only the second time I've been able to participate in the CCW annual sale since we moved to this area. I plan to make room for it in my schedule in the future.
