On the dobby loom, a new table runner warp is in progress, this time an interleaved threading. First, here are the yarns. The two larger cones are the warp yarns, hand-dyed 20/2 tencel. The smaller cone is 30/2 tencel for hem weft, and the skeins are 30/2 tencel for weft in the body of the runner.
Next, an overall view of the warping area, showing the cones lined up on the floor at the back of the loom, with the warping wheel barely visible at the left - all you can see is the comb through which the sections travel from the warping wheel to the warp beam:
If the outer sections are different, because the selvedge threads are all one color, not interleaved, I wind those sections first, then start filling in from left to right. Here's a closeup giving an idea of how the warp colors blend:
I plan to weave designs based on this threading - this version has a treadling of large advancing networked points and assumes a light turquoise weft:
The warp probably won't get completely beamed, nor the threading and sleying begun, until after Christmas, because this week we'll be getting ready for the KPFA show, and Christmas is almost immediately after that. You can expect radio silence for a while. In the meantime, I wish you all a happy holiday season!

I love this. Handwoven moire. Excellent. Look forward to seeing it finished.
Best wishes to you both. Love the colours and the moire effect. :)
cheers,
Laura
