Red

Very red, a vivid fuchsia sort of red. In the cloth, though, it is toned down by the close-sett warps, which are all neutral hues (natural, medium grey, and dark navy silk). The colors blend in the cloth to become pale pink through medium greyed fuchsia to deep purplish red.

As with the other weft colors in this run of scarves, the intensity of the weft is much less vivid from the side of the loom. Both photos were taken within seconds of each other, with no changed settings on the camera, so it's not a case of different light at different times of day.

A shuttle-motif scarf! I hope it's for a weaver.

Love how colours shift in the woven structure. :)

I am amazed at the extent to which that fuschia is toned down by the warp. Lovely as always.
