Number Four

The fourth scarf on the current warp is under way. The weft is a dark bronzy gold, and the treadling is shown in the draft below:

The lacy areas really will show as a texture change:

Here's a close-up. In the top half of the image the cloth is parallel to the floor; in the bottom half, it is curving over the cylindrical beam, so is at a different angle to both light source and viewer. You can see the difference in the apparent hue of the plainweave areas. More blue in the top half, and more gold in the bottom half.
