Handwoven

Okay, if I can weave" Te Ito Ori Ri" in kanji characters, I can weave "handwoven" in a fancy alphabetic typeface:

The typeface is Mistral, which seems to be installed automatically on most recent Windows computers. The type is interpreted in 1/3 and 3/1 broken twill, which should be closer to appropriate for the 24-epi warp I'm working on than the 1/4 and 4/1 satin I've been weaving recently (a little sleazy at this sett). The type is surrounded by basketweave on the sides (for a nice selvedge) and 2/2 broken twill in the top and bottom borders. If you click the thumbnail, you might be able to discern the different twills and basket structures.

This might be next on the current warp. We're still fine tuning things like cord length on the reinvented flying shuttle system, and springs on hooks that keep wanting to misbehave. There's still quite a bit of warp left, surprisingly, so I'll keep designing new things that can be woven on it.
