This was an experiment to see what difference it makes to use several thinner threads as weft instead of one thicker thread.
I wound the pirn with three strands of 100/2 NM silk, all reds, all about the same value. One is orange, one pink, one purple. I don't know if you can see the colors in this image:

The colors just glowed on the pirn, and the woven cloth has a livelier look than if it were woven with a single solid color. I'd like to try this with 3 blue threads on images with water in them.
