Happy New Year!

Warning - very little fiber content, except the vegetable kind :-)

Today's main task was to make a big pot of roasted sweet pepper soup. Very few ingredients, but lots of chopping: onions, carrots, sweet red peppers. Plus chicken broth and a few herbs. DH, bless his heart, roasted the peppers earlier this month. We were supposed to go to a potluck dinner party, but had to cancel because I had a wretched cold. So the roasted peppers went into the freezer, to be resurrected for New Year's Eve.

Some milk and herbs (and maybe basalmic vinegar and smoked paprika) will be added just before heating to serve. A dollop of creme fraiche and a sprinkling of chopped chives, anyone...?

New Year's Eve dinner with friends will be fresh Dungeness crab, salad, good crusty bread, preceded by appetizers and a cup of soup, and probably accompanied by some sparkling wine.

I hope all of you have a wonderful New Year, whatever the celebration offers you in the way of food (and fiber)!

Please come see what the New Year will bring to the looms at Three Springs Handworks!
