Why I Love Silk...

A. It takes dye beautifully.
B. It has amazing luster
C. It has strength even in a really fine yarn size
D. It has such good manners on the loom!!

The current scarf is chugging along uneventfully. The best sort of weaving, right? I weave 40 picks, move up the temple clamps, weave another 40, etc.

Once I get the end-delivery shuttle adjusted properly, with the weft yarn wrapping around the appropriate number of hooks inside the shuttle bay, everything just works. The selvedges are perfectly even, the auto advance on the loom keeps the beat even, and all I need to do is watch for knots approaching the fell of the cloth and enjoy seeing the pattern develop.

Easy peasy. I can do that.

I think the weaver might take some credit for her skill too - it's not JUST the yarn (although the yarn is lovely...)
