Ha Long Bay

Ha Long city, as seen from our hotel window. This town's sole reason for existence is to support the tourist trade of Ha Long Bay.

We had a 4-hour cruise, covering just a small part of this incredibly beautiful, other-worldly landscape.

All the cruise boats look like the ones in the photo. Lunch was included, starting with fresh, sweet prawns:

After I demolished the prawns, there were yellow crabs:

Then fried strips of calamari:

And fried fish fillets with tomato sauce:

We didn't go home hungry!
