Weaving, Finally!

Today I finished sleying the reed and lashing on to the apron rod.

Then, after adjusting the tension, and also spending some time getting the hanging beater square, so that it hits the front bumpers on both sides of the loom at the same time, I began weaving.

I can't begin to tell you how good it feels to be weaving again! After about 3 months of not being able to weave because other move-related projects took priority, I'm so happy to be back at it!!!

I wove about 5-6 inches, then stopped to take pictures. From the left side of the loom, I can see hills, but no trees.

However, if I go to the right side of the loom, trees appear as expected.

Smaller than the hills, with sharp little tops showing in rust against the background colors. It never ceases to amaze me how much difference the angle of light and angle of view make. As the cloth moves in the light, it changes magically.

I am right behind you, Sandra. I am about to shut down my looms for a move. It is comforting to see that you haven't lost your touch ;-)
