First Fire Scarf in Progress

The first piece in the series is almost 1/4 woven. The weft on this one is the dark chocolate brown 140/2 silk. Because it's less than half the grist of the warp, and midway in value between the two warp colors, it almost disappears in the cloth.

The overall look of the cloth is of hills and trees engulfed in flame, which is what I was after, so by that measure, it's a success. Once the cloth is off the loom and washed and pressed its true nature will be revealed.

What a daunting task! Frankly the Jaquard loom scares me, but ohhhh, the results are quite wonderful.
