Back at the Loom

If it seems to you that there hasn't been much weaving going on around here lately, you'd be right. However, I'm reversing that trend as of today.

Not that I've done no textile work, far from it, but they've been tasks that aren't much fun to write about, like mending, finishing, applying backing, and so on.

However, I have managed to finish off that grey wool shawl. Here it is on its way to the cloth storage beam:

And I've begun the second shawl. The weft in this one is a space-dyed yarn with very long color transitions, in this case from grey to mushroom to tawny gold and back.

You'll see more of it as the weaving progresses.

Lovely. :) And I hear you about the 'boring' bits that need to be done but aren't very exciting. :)
cheers,
