Even Better News, and the Orchid of the Day

I have a solo show coming up later this month! The friendly folks at Flying Goat Cellars will be exhibiting some of my jacquard work starting on the 20th, with an artist's reception on the 22nd from 11 to 4. The work will be on exhibit at least 3 months, possibly longer.

The winery and tasting room is located at Unit A, 1520 East Chestnut Court, Lompoc, CA 93436. If you're in the neighborhood, do drop by! Check their website for map and open hours.

Flying Goat's forte is pinot noir in the Burgundian style, and they make some of the best in California outside the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. There's also a delicious sparkling wine on the tasting menu...Yum!

The winery name comes from past experience with goats as mowing machines. As I'm sure you know, goats have lots of personality and a sense of humor. I've known goats who climbed trees, so I'm prepared to believe they can fly.

This freckle-faced phalaenopsis is getting toward the end of its blooming stage, but still has lots of personality, too.

Congrats on the solo show. Maybe I could ride one of those flying goats from the east coast so I could drop in and see the exhibit.
