Open Studios

I haven't posted for a few days because it's been busy around here - we're getting ready for Open Studios. After all, this is the one occasion every year for which I actually clean out the studio, and a year's worth of lint and dust takes a while to deal with.

There's also the problem of how to show the maximum number of pieces of weaving without overcrowding the available wallspace.  I hope this will do it. You can't see the scarf rack, because it won't get put up until Friday, and has a place in the kitchen (aka dye room).

Soooo, if you happen to be in San Luis Obispo County, California, this next weekend or the one after (October 13-14 and 20-21) please drop by to see both our studios - it's a twofer, with DH demonstrating woodturning and me demonstrating on both the jacquard loom and the dobby loom. We're numbers 37 and 38 in the Open Studios catalog published for the San Luis Obispo County area - see artsobispo.org for more information, or email me (sandra at 3springshandworks dot com) for address and directions.

Speaking of that, I'd better hurry and get the silk warp onto the dobby loom - the cones are wound and ready to be beamed:

I'm still trying to decide which jacquard design to have in progress. Best if it's an image that needs just one or two shuttles, because three is kinda like watching paint dry...
